Our Approach

Our program takes a hands on approach that will provide families with several skills and tools that are needed to create and maintain a nutritional diet plan while staying within their family’s budget.

With only 2% of children eating healthy, according to the USDA, the health of our youth is on a steady decline.

Bullying, anxiety, depression, ADHD, early on-set puberty, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, student drop-out rates, crime rates, skin disease, increased healthcare costs, cancer, decreased life expectancy and several other problems are all symptoms of poor nutrition and childhood obesity.

Purpose, Mission and The Reality

The Purpose of Eat Better Live Better (EBLB), a 501(C)3, is to transition children, families and communities into a healthy lifestyle and provide resource and access for fresh foods. Through our nutritional education, workshops and resources, we will create permanent and positive impact in the communities we serve.

The Mission of Eat Better Live Better is to help prevent, reduce and reverse childhood obesity and provide families with nutritional plans and healthy foods.

The Reality is that 1 in 3 children are obese (CDC statistics). Childhood obesity is the leading cause of preventable death. Bullying is directly related to the obesity epidemic as 60% of all bullying is triggered from body image. By combating obesity, we will also decrease the amount of bullying. Additionally, the youth are being diagnosed with more health problems at a younger age. That means that health care costs are going up and the quality of lives are going down. Lack of time, money, knowledge and resources are preventing families from making the shift in their lifestyles. EBLB is inclusive of every necessary aspect to make the transition into a healthy lifestyle possible.

How Eat Better Live Better Got Started

The founder of Eat Better Live Better is on a mission to tackle childhood obesity and help families eat better and get healthier. This passion was brought on by her own lifestyle transition and self-transformation.

Debra Tendrich was formally obese and lived a very unhealthy lifestyle. At 5’1 she weighed almost 200 pounds and was diagnosed with high cholesterol. At 25 years old she decided to make a lifestyle transition.

She dedicated time to work out daily and to learn to eat healthy. She dedicated herself to herself and she transformed.
Even though she lost 70 pounds and dropped her cholesterol almost 100 points, she still believes the biggest transformation she made, was the transformation she brought upon her daughter. Her new healthy lifestyle directly impacted her child and that gave her inspiration to continue her journey.

Debra opened up a fitness company and has helped motivate and transform many people. However, the past year she has been dedicating a lot of her time to volunteering at schools. In the past year, she has donated over 600 backpacks and school supplies to several schools throughout Palm Beach County, she volunteers for Career Days and other special events, she helps organize anti bullying pep rallies and speaks to students and teachers about fitness and nutrition.

During her visits at schools and interacting with the children, she noticed that there was a trend. The trend was the bad eating habits and obesity among the youth. The kids always shifted the blame to their parents. Debra was all too familiar with that scenario so she decided to do something about it.

She created Eat Better Live Better which will take the education to the parents and the kids at the same time with a hands on approach.

Many parents who are living paycheck to paycheck or cannot even afford their everyday expenses are not nutritionally educated. Eating healthy may feel like a task or chore that is too large to take on at the present moment. If a person does not know how or where to start, they usually won’t. Eat Better Live Better is designed to become the families starting point to nutritional success. By becoming the families starting point we can start making a difference one child, family and community at a time.
